NINE ONE FIVE menu features a large selection of tasting plates and entrees such as Asian-inspired seafood to fresh pizza and grass fed beef burgers. Nestled in a restored Victorian home, with a balcony that overlooks Duval Street and a rear porch that gives guests a perfect view of the stars, it’s easy to have parties, weddings, receptions, and other functions.
EXECUTIVE CHEF, BRENDAN ORR
Chef Orr has called Key West home for 20 years and is well known locally for his New Island cuisine, an artful combination of fresh local fare, Caribbean spices, Asian influences and French technique. He is a six-time winner of the MARC House Master Chef's Classic and has overseen the culinary programs at several of the destination's most popular restaurants.
He is currently the executive chef at First Flight and Nine One Five, and was previously the sous chef at Louie's Backyard, and executive chef at Roof Top Café, The Reach Resort, and Latitudes. Chef Orr also spent several years in Paris, France where he worked as executive chef of a bistro-style restaurant and helped ownership launch a second successful restaurant there. He completed his culinary apprenticeship at the American Culinary Federation in Jacksonville in 1995, prior to moving to France.
Well-rounded and multi-faceted, Chef Orr majored in English and minored in Forestry at the University of Florida, and spent a summer semester working as a park ranger and firefighter in the Pacific Northwest prior to pursuing his culinary career. He speaks fluent English, French and Spanish, and conversational Creole.
Chef Orr believes strongly in giving back to the community and has been an active volunteer in a variety of local and regional charities including the Destin Wine Auction benefiting North Florida children's charities, the MARC House Master Chef's Classic benefiting the Monroe Association of ReMARCable Citizens, and the Taste of Key West helping provide funds for AIDS Help of Key West.
